Do not have good ideas, or great ideas. Have GRAND ideas. (The Creativity Explorer. Episode 59)

(upbeat music) – Hi it’s Fredrik Haren from
The World Of Creativity. Today I am Taj Mahal in India and we are going to learn: not about having good ideas or bad ideas, not about having great ideas, but about having grand ideas. Ideas that people will come and visit 400 years after you had them. The amazing idea behind the Taj Mahal. (upbeat music) – This is the Taj Mahal. Now we are inside the Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal is a symmetrical building right? What is the symmetrical in this building mostly there are four entry gates: east, west, south and north. So which is the entry gate
you can see look over there that is the entry gate which is we call this is the Royal Gates. So for examples you know
people wanted to know, how to make a design, how to make a pattern, how to make a flower, how to fix the wall. Look at the art that’s over, that’s a rare art which
is we call delicate walls. That looks painting that
were used in Taj Mahal all over their real stones. All the stones come from South Africa, Belgium,
Iraq, and Afghanistan also. During this work, people
automatically nails is gone, bleeding in his hand
and fingers are chopped. Look on the top, there
is a small small dome. There’s another on the south side, another dome is behind that gate. In total, there are twenty two domes. For is the reasons there
are twenty two domes, because Taj Mahal was
completed in twenty two years. It’s took twenty two years
to build this whole building. The construction was started 1631, 1653 they completed the Taj Mahal. In total, twenty two years
to build this whole building, to make this. So how many workers in Taj Mahal? There is a twenty thousand workers, most of the workers comes from Iran. As Taj Mahal people speaks
very bad about the Taj Mahal, Taj Mahal is very precious
to Jahan in memory of Mumtaz, of his wife. At that time, Jahan who had three wife, first wife was named Fatehpuri Begum, second wife was named Sarhinidi Begum, the third wife was named Mumtaz. First and second wife was not a child, Mumtaz had fourteen children. For when Mumtaz died, she was died on 1630 during the fourteenth
children on delivery time. She never seen Taj Mahal,
that’s why we call it Taj Mahal, built by Jahan, memory of Mumtaz. What is the meaning of Taj Mahal? Taj means crown, Mahal means palace. – So that is the lesson, don’t have just good ideas, don’t have great ideas, have grande ideas, think big, think ideas that will last for centuries.
