Guen Douglas Creates an Art Nouveau Mermaid Tattoo | Tattoodo | Sessions

My name is Guen Douglas. I work at a little studio, private studio, called Taiko Gallery in Kreuzkölln, Berlin. I would describe my style as being illustrative and heavily influenced by American Traditional. So bold lines, some heavy black areas, solid color, and skin breaks. I guess I take inspiration from everywhere…including, mostly, the kind of books I buy are photography books. I love photographs. My boyfriend
is a chef, so I love food and travel. So, yeah, I’m influenced
by vintage things, new things. I love the Art Nouveau, Art Deco era.
That kind of stuff. So, today I’m doing a mermaid. She’s a little Art Nouveau, sort of vaudeville inspired, cabaret inspired mermaid. for my client who had some surgery and she didn’t walk for a few years. So, she really liked the idea of having transformed
into another kind of creature.
