Hi, this is Jon and in this clip we’ll be
installing the bottom. Now that my sides are assembled I went ahead and placed my bottom
piece in my project, and it shouldn’t fit so snuggly that you can’t get it out; but
it should fit in there pretty snuggly. To install the bottom we’re going to be putting
some screws along the bottom side and along the ends. And that’s going to really hold
everything together. Additionally you might want to use a little wood glue along all of
the edges since it is the bottom and there’s going to be a lot of weight, you wouldn’t
want it to be able to push threw. Now since we’re installing the screws from the sides
that’s really going to aid in not having it come apart at some point later in time. Once
our bottom is positioned in place and it’s all flush, we’re going to come in and drill
a few pilot holes. Now for this demonstration I’m only going
to use 3, but I would recommend using 5 or more. Next we’re going to come back with our
screws and secure that in place.
For our ends we’re going to do about 3 screws as well.
